Get back at your boss by writing songs

How many times have you read interviews with major musicians, or perhaps even heard their lyrics, and realized they were dissing their previous employees. Whether it was through giving them rubbish jobs, making them work late or telling them they would amount to nothing, previous bosses don’t come off too well. This may sound similar to your status in your current job and perhaps you should be keeping note of the horrible things they do to annoy you. The trick is to use it as motivation to better yourself and gain revenge later, as opposed to seeking instant retribution.

Having to work to subsidize the band whilst you set off on the road to stardom can be a drag but its one that so many of the best acts had to do. Being in a band isn’t cheap or easy and having to keep an income coming in can place a lot of pressure on a person. It also means that many end up working in jobs that have a degree of flexibility to allow them time to focus on the band or be available when they are required. This is good for the band but may not be welcomed by the employers. Having a staff member that is constantly needing time off or can only work certain hours is going to make a boss pretty angry and they may take their anger out on you.

You may want to tell them to stick their job where the sun doesn’t shine but unless you have a better job to go to, that may not be the best idea. Make sure you line up alternative employment that suits you before you decide to call it quits. It may also cheer you up to write a song or two about your evil boss. How good would it feel to make it big and have a song loved by thousands of people that makes a fool out of the boss who treated you badly? They say that revenge is a dish best served cold and having the last laugh would be the best response to give to anyone who angers you.

Don’t get mad, get even but make sure you do it on your terms. Walking out of a job may give you instant gratification but it may make it hard for you to pay the bills. Getting your revenge may take time but as long as you have the last laugh, who cares how long it takes.
